That made me sad to think about. I can imagine how bad you must have felt. At the very least, it helped you to become part of the vegan/animal rights movement.

It reminds me of how my mother, who was an omni her whole life, told me that she realized how precious life is and how violently it's ripped away when she was out with some guys who were fishing. She said she saw a poor fish flopping around on the docks, in dire need of water, and her heart just sank.

My favourite art picture (though the artist's name escapes me at the moment) is one where a fish is 'humaning'. He's sitting on the dock and has a hook caught in a human's mouth. If only such art could help EVERYONE see the light!

ouch... as so many have said, thank you for ending with the cheesecake, I think it really did help. disturbing pics, though. I'm so glad I don't eat things that have to get shot.

I guess most of us veg's used to kill animals too...either directly or indirectly, unless we were born veg'n. What i find the most disturbing is when meat eaters shutter at the thought of cruelty towards animals, and then choose to turn a blind eye and eat their skinless, boneless, as close to animal-less chicken breast as they can get.

Thanks for your post...it reaffirms my commitment very strongly!
